The Wedding Of The Painted Doll Wake Up Chillun Wake Up is a delightful album that showcases the talents of Ray Starita And His Ambassadors Band. The album features a lively and upbeat collection of jazz tunes that will have listeners tapping their feet and humming along in no time.

From the opening track "The Wedding Of The Painted Doll," which features Starita's smooth saxophone solos and the band's tight harmonies, to the closing number "Chillun' Wake Up," which showcases the group's playful and humorous side, this album is a joy to listen to from start to finish.

One of the standout tracks on the album is "My Sweetie Went Away," which features a beautiful vocal performance by the band's singer, who delivers the lyrics with a soulful and heartfelt sincerity. The band's musicianship is also on full display throughout the album, with each member contributing their own unique style and flair to the music.

About Ray Starita And His Ambassadors Band

The Ambassadors band had saxophonist & clarinet-player Ray Starita as leader, along with his brother Rudy on drums, vibes and xylophone. When the band performed at The Ambassador Club, Conduit Street, London, the brass section was not usually present. Appearances at The Ambassador were between April 1928 & April 1930 and April 1931 & circa July 1932. From September 1932 to 1933 the "Ambassador" was dropped and the band were simply known as "Rudy Starita and his Band". On some recordings the band has been variously credited as: "Andre Astan And His Band" "The Rhythm Aces" "Nat Starr And His Orchestra" "The Twelve Rhythm Monarchs" "Billy Seymour And The Boys" "Chick Hall And His Collegians" (There were three American-Italian Starita brothers; the eldest Rudy Starita, born in Naples, then in America Ray Starita and Al Starita. Ray returned to America in 1932 and became an amusement park owner.)
